Senate Bill No. 507

PUBLIC ACT NO. 96-31

AN ACT CONCERNING THE ECONOMIC REGULATION OF HOUSEHOLD GOODS CARRIERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Subdivision (1) of section 13b-387 of the general statutes, as amended by section 4 of public act 95-126, is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof:

(1) "Household goods" means personal effects and property used or to be used in a dwelling when a part of the equipment or supply of such dwelling; furniture, fixtures and equipment of stores, offices, museums, institutions, hospitals or other commercial establishments when a part of the stock, equipment or supply of such stores, offices, museums, institutions, hospitals or other commercial establishments; and articles, including objects of art, displays and exhibits which, because of their unusual nature or value, require specialized handling and equipment usually employed in moving household goods;]

Approved May 2, 1996. Effective October 1, 1996.
