Salem
New London County, Town established in May 1819, Parent Towns: Colchester, Lyme, and Montville

Salem Probate District was constituted July 9, 1841, from the Colchester and New London Probate Districts. The Salem Probate District currently serves the Town of Salem.

Saybrook
See Deep River and Chester; The Town of Saybrook changed its name to Deep River, July 1, 1947, and created its own probate district in 1949.

Stonington
New London County, Town settled in 1649; named Souther Towne by Massachusetts, October 1658; Named Stonington by Connecticut 1666

Stonington was for some years claimed by both the Connecticut and Massachusetts Colonies. The location of its early probate records is doubtful; perhaps a part of these records will be found in Massachusetts, and part in the records of the Particular Court. Stonington Probate District was constituted October 1766 session from the New London Probate District. The Stonington Probate District currently serves Stonington.
