Software

Document Imaging / Document Management / Records Retention

There is a large number of programs available for document imaging, document management, records retention and records management. The Office of the Public Records Administrator cannot recommend one software package over another. Towns and agencies should use professional resource networks such as ARMA, AIIM, or SAA to obtain product reviews as well as personal experiences of colleagues working in similar environments to gather information and determine which package is best suited for their needs. Towns and agencies should also take into consideration issues such as company stability and longevity as well as issues of information migration.
