Public Act 08-56, the Uniform Real Property Electronic Recording Act, directs the State Librarian to establish a Real Property Electronic Recording Advisory Committee to advise the State Librarian with respect to adopting, amending and repealing certain regulations outlined in the act.

The State Librarian shall appoint members of the committee as follows:

  • The Public Records Administrator, or a designee

  • The Secretary of the State, or a designee

  • A town clerk representing a municipality of less than twenty thousand

  • A town clerk representing a municipality of at least twenty thousand but less than sixty thousand

  • A town clerk representing a municipality having a population of at least sixty thousand

 
  • Three attorneys experienced in real estate law

  • An individual experienced in mortgage banking

  • An individual experienced in the business of title insurance

  • An individual with experience performing title searches of real property

  • A licensed real estate broker

  • A notary public
